The Hague Student Symphony Orchestra: a young and ambitious orchestra for students and young professionals.

Five students founded HSSO Valerius in 2005. The orchestra, conducted by Arne Visser, presents three musical projects a year with special themes, such as Danses du Printemps by French composers, Thousand and One Night with Arabian fairy tales, and The New World with music from The States. Additionally, Valerius likes to work with choirs, soloists and ballet groups for performances such as The Magic Flute by Mozart and the Nutcracker and Swan Lake ballets by Tchaikovsky. Although Valerius was founded as a student orchestra, we also welcome young professionals. We rehearse every Tuesday night between 7.30 pm and 10 pm in the Auditorium of the ‘Haagse Hogeschool’.
