Meet the Board!

The board of Valerius meets weekly and is in charge of the daily organisation of the orchestra. This includes liaising with the conductor, concert-master, and venues. Keep an eye out on this page for any possible board vacancies!

  • President - Eszter Horváth

Music has always been a big part of my life, and I’m excited to work as president of our orchestra, and contribute to its growth. We want to build a welcoming community where everyone feels inspired to develop their skills and share their love for music. Together, we can create not just great performances, but lasting connections on and off the stage. Are you in for the ride?

  • Vice President - Caroline Byun

As the Vice President and a first-time board member, I’m excited to be more involved with this fun and diverse orchestra. I’ve been playing in orchestras since I was a child, and I’ve always loved the sense of connection and community that comes from making music together. For me, there’s nothing better than creating something bigger than ourselves through music, and I’m excited to help support that spirit here.

  • Treasurer - Alex Huikeshoven

I'm entering my third year playing in Valerius, and in this exciting time I hope to be a part in helping us grow and improve. I've been playing in orchestras for over a decade now, and being able to give back to the orchestra by helping to organise has been a very fulfilling task, that I can't wait to continue in this new role as treasurer.

  • Secretary - Aysenur Ozmen

After being part of Valerius for three years, I am excited to take on a more active role and contribute to the orchestra’s organization. Having sung and played in various choirs, ensembles, and orchestras over the years, I now look forward to stepping behind the curtain. I hope everyone who joins Valerius experiences the same warmth and community that I have found here!

  • Recruitment & Outreach - Beyoncé de Meza

I have been playing with Valerius for almost two years now, and before that I was already active in a youth orchestra from a young age. Making music together has always been something I truly enjoy, and being part of an orchestra feels very special to me. That is why I decided to join the board to contribute even more to the orchestra and help our community of young musicians continue to thrive.
