Orchestra

Who are we?

Looking for a combination of music and fun in the city center of The Hague? HSSO Valerius is an ambitious and cosy symphony orchestra for students and young professionals in The Hague. We rehearse every Tuesday evening from 19:30 until 22:00 pm in the  auditorium of The Hague University together with our conductor Arne Visser.

Those weekly rehearsals are there with a reason! Every year Valerius organizes two major concerts, one during spring and one during autumn. Besides we explore every year if there are other great projects in which we can participate. The last couple of years Valerius was present at ‘Ut Haags Notûh festival’ and the orchestra worked together with the Foundation Dosti to present a combination of Hindipop and Classical music. But also during the opening of the new study year of The Hague University we were invited to play some music. A special occasion because we were playing for our own king!

And there’s more …

Our orchestra consists of students and young professionals from many different countries. With this international group of people we always go for a drink at the Xieje after our rehearsals. Every year we have a great study weekend, we organize barbecues, safari dinners, karaoke nights and much more! Our members are also involved in the various committees of the orchestra.
